CHALLENGES

Something to work towards.

The point of a challenge is simple: it tells you what to find next. Open Challenges and Find milestones are free; Premium opens the full Challenge Library.
OPEN SAMPLER

Open Challenges

A few challenges are open to everyone. A free account tracks your exact progress through them.
ALWAYS FREE

Find milestones

Milestones celebrate how many unique Big Things you have found, whichever challenges they belong to.
PREMIUM LIBRARY

Turn your collection into a bigger game

Premium unlocks the full curated Challenge Library. You can still see the challenge ideas here; a membership unlocks their progress, qualifying sets and what-to-find-next tools.
Collecting stays Free.
Big Thing listings, safety and access information, navigation facts, Visits, Want to Visit, Find milestones, contribution and the Open Challenge sampler remain Free. Premium unlocks the deeper game around that collection; it does not hide factual information or erase anything you have found.
Your collection is private, and it starts from what you have already seen.
A free account tracks your Finds and Open Challenge progress. Big Things you visited years ago count exactly the same as one you saw last weekend. If you later unlock Premium, those same genuine Finds are immediately re-evaluated against the full Challenge Library.

HOW THIS WORKS

What counts, and what does not

Progress comes from your visits
You never tick items off a list by hand. Marking a Big Thing as visited is what advances an unlocked challenge, and one Big Thing counts once however many times you go.
Old visits count
Genuine visits from years ago count exactly the same as one from last weekend. If Premium becomes active later, all qualifying historical Visits are recognised automatically.
Earned stays earned
Challenge definitions are versioned. If later research adds a qualifying Big Thing, a challenge you have already completed is not taken away – you simply see progress against the newer edition as well.
No racing anyone
No leaderboards, no streaks, no fastest-completion times. The only thing you are working against is your own unfinished collection.
