Marking a Big Thing as visited, with your own date and story, is Free and never needs GPS. On-site verification is a separate, Premium experience.

Verify you are there, your Explorer Plate, and recording a Verified Visit
On-site verification, the Location Stamp and location reward it can unlock, creating or updating your Explorer Plate, and recording a Verified Visit – your Plate and an optional note, published to that Big Thing’s Visitor Log – are all Premium. A valid Site Pass, earned through Verify Here, is required to verify. An Explorer Plate you already created stays exactly as it was if Premium later lapses.

What happens if Premium lapses
Permanence is not a Premium benefit. A membership controls what you can do next, never what you already did.

THE BOUNDARY
What Premium will never do
It will never buy a more accurate or safer factual answer. The Open Web keeps the Big Thing’s own location, public facts, sources and every relevant safety warning visible without an account. A Free Explorer account unlocks researched guidance on where to arrive, access notes and directions; Premium receives those same facts, not a better set.
It will never make paying members more authoritative about catalogue facts, give paid progress multipliers, or make a contribution more likely to be accepted. Verifying you’re at a Big Thing never makes a Find more valid, and recording a Visit never needs your location.
Premium never improves your odds, your luck or your duplicate protection when a Collectible pack is opened, and buying a membership never grants a pack by itself. Collectibles cannot be traded, transferred, sold or converted into anything else. There is no marketplace and there is no speculative economy, by design.
