A fiberglass-and-steel pheasant statue beside Highway 14 in Huron, South Dakota. It stands 28 feet tall, weighs 22 tons and measures over 40 feet from beak to tail tip. Huron's tourism page and Travel South Dakota both say it has affirmed Huron as a premier pheasant-hunting location since 1959, while a 2023 news report says it has been in existence since October 1958 and was christened that year by Joe Foss with about 2,500 people in attendance. It is billed as the world's largest pheasant.
