World's Largest High Boy Chest of Drawers

The entrance to one of the largest furniture stores in the United States is a chest of drawers 85 feet tall. The Highboy stands at the Mart, part of the Furnitureland South campus in Jamestown, between High Point and Greensboro. Furnitureland South describes the Mart as "Marked by an impressive 85-foot-tall highboy", and the campus as more than 1.3 million square feet of showrooms. Wikipedia describes the store as the largest retail furniture store in the United States. A September 2026 article in YES! Weekly puts the Highboy at 84 feet, in a report on a 30-by-50-foot flag raised over it.

Roadside America says the facade is 40 feet wide and made not of wood but of synthetic stucco over a steel frame. Both Roadside America and Silly America credit High Point furniture designer Sid Lenger with the design; Silly America adds that it was traced and carved into foam by a team from Central Carolina Interiors. Roadside America says Lenger built High Point's World's Largest Chest of Drawers two years earlier and died unexpectedly in 2003.
