This Big Thing is recorded as still being here.
A 26-foot-wide, two-ton steel buffalo skull sculpture sculpted by Joe Barrington in June 2012 from steel salvaged from old Texas oil tanks, sited on the parade grounds of Frontier Texas! at the intersection of N. 1st St and Ash St in Abilene, on the site of a former buffalo bone yard where bones were once piled for rail shipment. Finished with no rough edges so children can climb through its eye sockets.
