FIELD GUIDE
The story
Twistee Treat is a Florida ice cream chain known for stands built as giant cones, and one of them serves Spring Hill on Cortez Boulevard. RoadsideArchitecture.com, a photographic survey of the chain, lists the Cortez Blvd. building among the "modern" Twistee Treats and says it was installed there around 2015; Roadside America likewise describes the Spring Hill stand as "shaped like a soft-serve ice cream cone". Twistee Treat's own Florida locations page, as it stood in May 2026, lists Spring Hill at 13200 Cortez Blvd, with a second Spring Hill store on Commercial Way. The same survey says the original Twistee Treat cone design came from Robert G. "Skip" Skinner, who built the first one in North Fort Myers in 1982, and that the chain was later revived by an Orlando company; it counts this store among the newer "modern" buildings. Roadside America gives the address as 13300 Cortez Blvd, while the company lists 13200.
