FIELD GUIDE
The story
Twistee Treat sells soft-serve ice cream from buildings shaped like ice-cream cones. The company describes them as 25-foot-tall fiberglass cone buildings, and the first cone-shaped stores were built in North Fort Myers, Florida, in the early 1980s. A new company, Twistee Treat USA, acquired the rights in 2010 and began building new stores, according to Wikipedia.
This is the company's second Spring Hill stand, listed as Spring Hill II at 1329 Commercial Way; the other is at 13200 Cortez Boulevard. RoadsideArchitecture.com, a hobbyist guide to such buildings, says the modern Twistee Treat on Commercial Way was installed in 2016.
