This Big Thing is recorded as still being here.
'Three Blacktail Jackrabbits,' a set of three cast-bronze jackrabbit sculptures by artist Mark Rossi (1993) on S Mill Avenue in downtown Tempe -- the 'Restful Rabbit' (8 ft), 'Guard Rabbit' (14 ft), and 'Groomer Rabbit' (12 ft), each weighing 1,000-1,500 lbs. A real blacktail jackrabbit is roughly 2 ft long, so even the smallest figure is several times life-size; the tallest ('Guard Rabbit') is a 7x-scale giant. A beloved downtown Tempe public-art landmark, popular for climbing photos.
