"Spirit," an 11-foot-tall, 2,500-pound chrome horse sculpture welded from recycled automobile bumpers by Sacramento artist Sean Guerrero ("The Bumper Hunter") in 2004, standing at the front entrance of the Safeway supermarket at 1814 19th Street in Sacramento's Midtown district. The piece is a frequently cited example of Sacramento's oddball public art and has drawn mixed reactions locally, admired by some as striking kinetic-looking art and derided by others as an odd fit for a grocery store entrance.
