FIELD GUIDE

The story

Randy's Donuts took the giant donut that made its Inglewood shop famous and built a new one for Downey. The shop opened in 2019 on Firestone Boulevard with a 26-foot donut on the roof.
The Downey Patriot reported in June 2018 that the plan was for a shop on Firestone Boulevard at Marbel Avenue, on a lot formerly occupied by a used car dealership. The company announced a grand opening for Wednesday 23 October 2019, with a drive-thru and some indoor and outdoor seating. Owner Mark Kelegian said the aim was to 'become a landmark in the city of Downey'.
