FIELD GUIDE
The story
Two and a half kilometres of barbed wire, wound into the shape of a bull.
David White, a local artist, made it, and it was unveiled in 2021 at the Nanango Showgrounds. It is life size rather than oversized, which for once is the right decision – the interest is entirely in the material, and enlarging the animal would only have diluted it.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The Nanango Bull is a life-size steel bull sculpture formed from more than 2.5 kilometres of barbed wire. It stands as a signature sculpture at the Nanango Showgrounds.
ACCESS
The Nanango Bull is positioned behind the Nanango Showgrounds fence at the corner of Cairns Street and the D’Aguilar Highway for roadside visibility. Current visitor evidence for the showgrounds confirms free parking outside the grounds. PBT still withholds direct navigation until the preferred exact Cairns Street parking point is independently map-checked and confirmed clear of highway traffic and showgrounds gates.
