FIELD GUIDE
The story
Every donor who gave thirty dollars got their name on a plaque, and the peanut itself is built from antique farm machinery.
That is a considerably better funding model than most Big Things manage. Visit South Burnett records the 2021 sculpture as a community-led, crowd-funded project, with the intricate metal design incorporating antique pieces of local farming machinery – so the material is not just scrap but the district's own retired equipment.
