Mr. PG is Prince George's civic mascot, a metal-and-fibreglass figure about 8.14 m (27 ft) tall, described by Tourism Prince George and Exploration Place as standing at the intersection of Highways 97 and 16 (the City's public-art record gives a different address). A 5-foot wooden figure dates from about 1960; sources differ on when the present figure was built and moved.

FIELD GUIDE
The story
Prince George, British Columbia, has a city mascot, Mr. PG, whom Tourism Prince George gives as 27 feet tall as of 2026 (8.14 metres). Exploration Place, a Prince George non-profit, adds that he contains a time capsule in his chest.
Tourism Prince George says Mayor Harold Moffat decided in 1950 that the city needed a mascot, and that in 1960 Mr. PG stood 5 feet (1.5 metres) tall, originally fully made of wood, in collaboration with sawmill owner Hans Roine. Exploration Place dates the idea to the late 1950s and says the first figure stood outside the former Simon Fraser Hotel on Quebec Street before being placed on permanent display in front of the Chamber of Commerce.
