The story

A fiberglass steer reported at 14 feet tall, acquired in 1975, still stands on West Market Street in Logansport, Indiana, years after the burger restaurant behind it closed.
Mr. Happy Burger, known locally as Hap's, was founded by Bob Shanks, who opened the first restaurant on the Eastgate Plaza parking lot in October 1961 and added Hap's West in 1970. According to the Pharos-Tribune in August 2026, both locations were known for steers in the front yard, each reported as 2,000 pounds and 14 feet tall, made of fiberglass and plastic stretched on a pipe frame.
