FIELD GUIDE
The story
Visit Myrtle Beach describes Molten Mountain Miniature Golf as a 36-hole complex built around a 50-foot volcano that, since 2006, erupts every 30 minutes. There are two 18-hole courses: Pele's Revenge, an outdoor tropical course with lava rivers and tiki figures, and Lava Louie's Challenge, an air-conditioned course through the volcano's interior.
The operator, Paradise Adventure Golf, lists Molten Mountain among its three Myrtle Beach-area mini golf locations and describes caves, tunnels, flowing water and lava-style features. It says 18 of the 36 holes are indoors. North Myrtle Beach's official tourism site places it among the area's rain-or-shine mini golf options.
