This Big Thing is recorded as still being here.
Millennium Pegasus is a 12-foot-tall, 3,000-pound bronze sculpture of a winged horse with a 14.5-foot wingspan, created by sculptor Sandy Scott of Lander, Wyoming. Previously on display in Denver, Colorado, it was relocated to downtown Anderson, South Carolina, arriving October 31, 2023, as Project #7 of the community group 'to better Anderson' (TBA). It stands in the greenspace directly behind the Historic Courthouse, on the site of the former Bailes Building; Anderson County provided the site, concrete slab, and lighting, while TBA privately funded purchase, transport and installation. The installation was announced as temporary, with an anticipated relocation to a permanent site on the grounds of Anderson University after two to three years.
