Rose Crystal Tower Chihuly Falls Park

Rose Crystal Tower honours Harriet Wyche, a lifelong Greenville resident and community volunteer whom Greenville.com, in October 2015, called “instrumental in establishing Falls Park”. The Wyche Sculpture Committee, made up of family members and friends, commissioned the work; the committee raised most of the funding and the city was to receive it as a donation. Greenville.com described the piece, before installation, as rose-coloured Polyvitro, crystal-shaped masses Chihuly Studio casts from polymer resins and dyes, on a stainless-steel armature, over eight feet tall, on a concrete base matching the benches in Harriet’s Garden. Craig Gaulden Davis Architecture, which Greenville.com said was part of the design team for that area of the park, wrote that the veil was drawn on 6 October 2015 and that the crystals glow when uplit. A City of Greenville public-art tour listing for August 2024 places it inside the park, and a South Carolina tourism article puts it at the west end near University Street.
