The Millennium Statue of Jesus Christ, a 15-foot bronze figure on an 8-foot base (23 feet total), stands in historic Bilbo Cemetery on North Lakeshore Drive, Lake Charles, over the graves of the city's earliest settlers including Jacob Ryan Jr., the 'Father of Lake Charles.' Designed by Janie Stine LaCroix, a descendant of Jacob Ryan, and unveiled in 2002 as a tribute to the cemetery's pioneers and a symbol of Lake Charles as a city of peacemakers.
