A giant fiberglass mallard duck statue -- officially billed by Iowa's state tourism office as 'Iowa's LARGEST mallard duck' -- mounted atop the 'Welcome to Mallard, We're Friendly Ducks' town-entrance sign along Highway 4 in Mallard, Iowa; built by Mallard Community Club members Paul Bierie and Ted Larson (wood frame, chicken wire, fiberglass) originally as a parade float, based on the design of a mallard duck toy.
