This Big Thing is recorded as still being here.
A 20-foot-tall, 24-foot-wide sculptural replica of Charles Ebbets' famous 1932 photograph 'Lunch atop a Skyscraper,' installed at the Giving Tree Cafe (2024 N 7th Street), Phoenix, in December 2021. Sculpted by Blake Emory and produced by Gregory Kirschenbaum over roughly two years using clay, fiberglass resin, steel, wood, textiles, rubber, and chrome; the Phoenix version reimagines the 11 steelworkers as Native American laborers holding construction tools alongside their lunch, plus a 7-ft Rosie the Riveter figure, installed by cafe owner David Warr as, per KTAR, 'the largest piece of street art in the city.' No source found confirms its removal.
