FIELD GUIDE
The story
King Kone in Perry, Michigan, sells ice cream from a building shaped like a giant ice cream cone. It stands at 12030 South M-52, at the south end of town on the west side of the highway, according to Roadside America. A visitor there in 2010 described drive-up service and picnic tables.
Radio station 99.1 WFMK, in features from 2018 and 2026, places the stand in the tradition of roadside food stands built to look like what they sold: hot dogs, ice cream cones, milk bottles and more. The 2026 feature calls King Kone a local favorite for many years, offering seasonal flavors such as Pumpkin Flurry in fall, plus Trash Can and Fudgey Peanut Tower.
