A giant fiberglass ice cream cone sign -- originally a Kay's Kastles chain sign from a 1960s-70s Dalton location at Bryman's Plaza on Walnut Avenue, historically depicting a boy in short pants climbing a ladder to lick the cone -- was rescued from a field where it had lain forgotten after that store closed. In the early 1990s Annie Talbot and her husband bought the vintage sign and attached it to their new ice cream shop; the business changed hands in 1997 when Cindi Brown took over and renamed it Ice Castle, which remains in operation today serving Greenwood-brand ice cream, sandwiches, and deli treats.
