A 12-foot-tall scrap-metal sculpture of a firefighter, built by Sebastopol found-object artist Patrick Amiot from welded fire extinguishers, fuel tanks, a woodstove handlebar (nose), a thermostat (eyeball) and other salvaged materials, stands along Florence Avenue as a tribute to firefighters. Amiot unveiled the piece in November 2017, just weeks after the Tubbs Fire tore through Sonoma County. It is one of the tallest and most individually publicized pieces (covered by the San Francisco Chronicle as a standalone commissioned tribute) among Amiot's long-running, evolving Florence Avenue junk-art sculpture display.
