This Big Thing is recorded as still being here.
A roughly 13-foot-tall, 30-foot-long dragon sculpture made of recycled scrap metal and salvaged antique-shop items suddenly appeared in September 2019 on a vacant lot in Lakeland's Dixieland neighbourhood, on the site of a demolished house at 116-118 W. Park Street. Designed and fabricated by artist Keith Maximillion Williams of 4th Dimension Art & Fab, it was sponsored by developer Gregory Fancelli (whose company owns the site, eventually planned for apartments) and Brooke Babicz Agnini, and stands as recognised public art -- a popular but fragile, sharp-edged sculpture visitors are asked to photograph rather than climb.
