The story
Cowboy Bob comes with a biography. According to Mary Beth Babcock, who owns Buck's Vintage, he is a western musician who played a concert at Cain's Ballroom, fell in love with Tulsa and decided to stay. The figure that carries the story is a fibreglass roadside giant, the kind often called a Muffler Man, with a guitar, a bolo tie and a cowboy hat.
He stands in Tulsa's Meadow Gold District, just off 11th Street and Peoria Avenue, which National Geographic Traveller describes as Tulsa's stretch of Route 66. News 9 reported in June 2025 that he would stand across from the Meadow Gold sign, which National Geographic Traveller says dates from 1934. FOX23 reported his installation outside Buck's Vintage in August 2025.
