A giant cast-iron water pitcher, made by the Glamorgan foundry of Lynchburg and given to the city in October 1890, served as a working fountain at the College Hill Reservoir for 73 years. When the reservoir was covered by a dome in 1963, the pitcher and its surrounding ironwork fencing were dismantled and placed into storage/separated. After nearly forty years apart, the pitcher and fencing were reunited and reinstalled just inside the gate of Lynchburg's City Cemetery in November 2002.
