The story

Cadiz, Kentucky, is full of pig statues, and in 2024 it unveiled a 10-foot one. The 10-foot, 350-pound fibreglass sow was unveiled on 6 September 2024 at Broadbent Square, and WKMS reported that it was meant to greet people entering Trigg County from the interstate.

Its painted surface is stitched together like a quilt of agricultural scenes and landmarks, including Land Between the Lakes and Lake Barkley State Resort, and it pays homage to the county's annual Country Ham Festival. Cadiz-Trigg County Tourism's own page says the panels also carry the names of Trigg County communities, among them Montgomery, Roaring Springs, Golden Pond and Cadiz, and scenes running from farming and moonshining to wildlife and waterways. WKMS noted a small joke for locals: an ear tag on a cow showing the county's 270 area code.

The statue was announced as Big Pig. WKMS reported that Cadiz radio station WKDZ would host a contest to name the statue, with the name to be revealed at the Country Ham Festival kickoff breakfast in October 2024. By 2025, the tourism office and Kentucky Living were calling her Cadi the Pig. Kentucky Living reported in September 2025 that Cadiz has more than 50 pig statues, and that when a business opens in town the first question is often where to get its own pig, to be painted by local artists. Tourism executive director Beth Sumner said in 2024 that visitors often ask why the town is full of pig art, and that the tourism office planned a trail linking the statues, with geocaching clues.

The Kentucky New Era places Broadbent Square just off US 68, across from a gift shop; Kentucky Living says it is off Interstate 24.
