This Big Thing is recorded as still being here.
Two giant metal sculptures of Buddy Holly's iconic thick-framed glasses (one black, one rusty), each roughly 6 feet across, constructed by Texas artist Steve Teeters in 2002 for the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock, Texas -- Holly's hometown. A popular photo opportunity outside the museum, which also displays Holly's actual recovered glasses from his fatal 1959 plane crash inside.
