A large bronze bear statue outside the Bronze Bear Outpost, a western-themed gift store in downtown Lee Vining, California, functioning as a wishing well: visitors toss coins into the bear's mouth, aiming for them to drop through into a hollow stump at its feet, with three tries counting toward a wish. The statue is described by both the Mono County tourism authority and the Lee Vining Chamber of Commerce as 'huge' and is a well-known local landmark on US-395.
