This Big Thing is recorded as still being here.
A programmatic-architecture fast-food building at Crenshaw Blvd and W. 112th St in Inglewood, California, built in 1968 and designed by architect Victor Miller with a distinctive octagonal umbrella-shaped roof. Originally opened as the Bumbershoot Cafe ('bumbershoot' being another word for umbrella, as is 'brolly'), it became the Brolly Hut in 1971 and has operated continuously under that name since, keeping the umbrella theme both in its architecture and interior umbrella-shaped light fixtures. It is documented as the last surviving umbrella-roofed building of its kind in the Los Angeles area.
