The catalogue record describes the Big Barrel at Clouds Vineyard, Bald Knob, as a current Sunshine Coast Big Thing operating as restaurant, tasting venue and event space. A Queensland Big Things account tells a different story: that the Big Barrel showcased local craft wines and brews including Maleny Mountain Wines for many years and then shut down out of the blue in February 2019, the closure shrouded in mystery, customers met by a sandwich board at the entrance.
