FIELD GUIDE
The story
Toowoomba is the Garden City, and it has the flower show to prove it – so a group of oversized sunflowers in one of its parks is less a novelty than a statement of local orthodoxy.
The sculptures were built in 2012 in Lions Park, within the Picnic Point parklands on the edge of the Great Dividing Range escarpment. Picnic Point is the city's signature outlook, looking east over the Lockyer Valley from the top of the range, and it is where Toowoomba takes people it wants to impress.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The sculpture group is part of a public park with toilets, picnic facilities, playgrounds and established parking.
ACCESS
The Big Sunflowers / Sunflower Tribute stand in Lions Park within the Picnic Point Parklands on Tourist Road, Rangeville. The former PBT object and vehicle point at -27.5800006, 151.9900525 was Toowoomba Regional Council’s generic Lions Park webpage map point and sits roughly 550 m east of the sculpture location. Monument Australia independently records the Sunflower Tribute at approximately -27.578889, 151.984444, consistent with the known Lions Park setting; production now uses that as an approximate object point. Council confirms designated car parks adjacent to Lions Park on Tourist Road, but a specific lawful parking coordinate has not yet been independently pinned, so direct driving directions are withheld.
