FIELD GUIDE

The story

In 2010 somebody stole the Sausage King off the roof of a Toowoomba butcher, and the whole town wanted to know who.
The statue is a giant anthropomorphic sausage – arms, legs, crown, the full monarch – and it belongs to Gray's Modern Meats, a family butcher established in 1952 that has spent more than sixty years building a reputation across the Darling Downs. The mascot is well enough known locally that the business trades under the Sausage King name in its own right.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The Sausage King is a giant anthropomorphic sausage mascot, one of Toowoomba's classic commercial Big Things, associated with Gray's Modern Meats. The current host business trades at 107 Taylor Street, Newtown, and object-specific 2023 travel photography documents the statue in place at the site.
ACCESS
The Big Sausage King remains associated with Gray’s Modern Meats at 107 Taylor Street, Newtown. Gray’s current site explicitly welcomes customers at this address, while property evidence documents four on-site car spaces plus on-street parking. This establishes a legitimate visitor/customer parking context, but PBT still withholds direct navigation until the preferred current exact arrival point is independently map-checked.
