FIELD GUIDE

The story

Davo's Northshore Bait & Tackle had a giant fishing reel out the front, on the David Low Way at Marcoola, catching the traffic running up the Sunshine Coast strip between the beaches and the airport.
Both are now gone, and in that order. The reel was removed by July 2023, recorded in the Big Stuff of Australia register of removed Big Things. Davo's Northshore Bait & Tackle then ceased operating as a registered business name in July 2025, and the address at 938 David Low Way is now occupied by unrelated businesses.
