FIELD GUIDE

The story

The Daly Waters pub collects oversized objects the way it collects hats, and the crocodile is one of them.
It shares the site with the giant wine bottle mounted on the back of a vintage truck, at a 1930 corrugated-iron hotel on the Stuart Highway that has spent nearly a century accumulating things. The interior is famously upholstered in donations from passing travellers – hats, thongs, banknotes, identification, underwear – and the yard follows the same principle at a larger scale.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Current specialist Big Things coverage places the crocodile inside Tim’s Junk Yard at the pub; the pub’s current first-party site confirms Tim’s Junk Yard remains part of the operating attraction.
ACCESS
Navigate to Daly Waters Historic Pub and use its visitor parking. The crocodile is within the pub attraction rather than a roadside stop.
