FIELD GUIDE
The story
Mr O'Doyle is a crocodile in a boat, and he sits outside the pub in a town most people have never heard of.
St Lawrence is a very small settlement on the Isaac Coast, off the Bruce Highway between Rockhampton and Mackay, in country of tidal flats, wetlands and cattle. The wetlands there are genuinely significant for waterbirds and genuinely full of estuarine crocodiles, so a large crocodile is not an imported joke.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Recent Queensland Big Things registers continue to place the Crocodile in a Boat at the St Lawrence Hotel, while WikiCamps identifies the character as Mr O’Doyle and notes a 2017 paint date. Current Isaac Regional Council material independently confirms the hotel remains active at 19 Railway Parade.
ACCESS
Navigate to the St Lawrence Hotel, 19 Railway Parade. Treat the pin as the hotel site rather than the exact sculpture position and use lawful hotel/street access; do not obstruct Railway Parade for photographs.
