A large blue teapot was installed on the back of a building in downtown Elloree, South Carolina, in 2012; South Carolina Living in July 2019 compared its size to a two-car garage. The building, at 2732 Cleveland Street, held the Tea-rific Teapot Museum, a collection of 5,001 teapots gathered from around the world. The magazine reported that proceeds from the museum, tea room and thrift store went to animal rescue, and that the teapot's roof had caved in.

FIELD GUIDE

The story

A large blue teapot was installed on the back of a building at 2732 Cleveland Street in downtown Elloree, South Carolina, in 2012, according to South Carolina Living in July 2019.
The magazine described the building as the Tea-rific Teapot Museum, which it said held 5,001 teapots gathered from around the world by a late collector, and as part of a thrift store whose proceeds support animal rescue. It compared the teapot's size to a two-car garage and reported that its roof had caved in, though it was still "a sight to see from the outside of the building."
