The story
A giant spotted dog stands outside an old fire station in downtown Shreveport, and each of its spots lights up for a donor.
The Dalmatian, named ART, was described in 2021 as standing on Crockett Street outside the Engine Room doors of the Central ARTSTATION, the former Central Fire Station that now houses the Shreveport Regional Arts Council's offices, a gallery and performance space. According to Public Art Services, which managed the project, the design came from William Joyce and Brandon Oldenburg of Moonbot Studios as a "commemorative housewarming" gift to the council, and the page says a grant from the Educational Foundation of America to the council supported the design that turned the fire station into the Central ARTSTATION. The page dates the work to 2014.
