The City of Eveleth says its hockey stick weighs 10,000 pounds (5 tons) and is 110 feet long. The city places it in Hockey Plaza and says it was made by Sentinel Structures, Inc. of Peshtigo, Wisconsin, and arrived on 18 June 2002, taking the original spot of the 1995 stick. FIELD GUIDE

The story

Eveleth, Minnesota, built a wooden hockey stick 110 feet long beside a giant puck, and it is the town's second.
The City of Eveleth says it is sometimes called the Big Stick or simply The Stick, and that everyone in Eveleth knows that means the World's Largest Free Standing Hockey Stick; it weighs 10,000 pounds. The city's page places it at the corner of Monroe Street and Grant Avenue, in Hockey Plaza. The Duluth News Tribune described it in 2019 as an honest-to-goodness wooden stick, not fiberglass, and said whether to call it the world's largest or the world's largest free-standing stick is a point of some controversy.
