The story

Waco, Texas, is where Dr Pepper was first served in 1885, and since May 2026 the Dr Pepper Museum has had a 23-foot bottle to match, which it bills as the World's Largest Dr Pepper Bottle.

The museum unveiled it to the public on Saturday 9 May 2026, during its 35th Birthday Bash, with a ceremony for the community and partners. KWTX reported that the custom fiberglass bottle was made in Wisconsin. The museum says it is a permanent exhibit. One side carries the first logo used on bottles in the original bottling building; the other shows the final logo used before bottling operations ceased in the museum's main building.

The museum says the Hillman Family Foundation, in honour of Cornerstone Caregiving, pledged $1,023,000 to the museum, accepted on 5 March 2026, with $123,000 of it going to the bottle.

The building behind it has its own history. KWTX reports that it was built in 1906 as a bottling facility for the Artesian Manufacturing and Bottling Company and later served as the company's national headquarters. On 11 May 1953 an EF-5 tornado tore through downtown Waco and ripped off part of the second floor. The bottling company relocated and the building closed in the 1960s, sat vacant for decades, and reopened as the museum in 1991.

KWTX quotes the museum's director of development and marketing, Autumn Outlaw, saying "roadside attractions are one of those things, so we wanted to provide that", and adds that there is no Dr Pepper inside the bottle: it is a photo opportunity.

The museum is at 300 South 5th Street in downtown Waco.

The 'Tincinerator,' a roughly 79-80-foot-tall abandoned industrial incinerator repurposed by artist Mickey Pitcher in late 2014 into a smiling Tin Soldier, painted with a face on both sides so it is visible from Loop 340 in either driving direction. Formerly part of Smith Furniture Manufacturing Co. (used to burn scrap wood, abandoned when the company closed in 2007), it stands along Highway 84 across from Richland Mall, Waco.
