This Big Thing is recorded as still being here.
"Wind Roundabout," a 30-foot-tall by 30-foot-diameter kinetic sculpture by environmental artist Ned Kahn, standing in the center of the White Settlement Street/Henderson Street traffic roundabout in Fort Worth. Thousands of small anodized aluminum hinge plates hang from a cylindrical cable net supported by curved steel tubes, moving continuously with the wind. Commissioned by the City of Fort Worth's Public Art program as part of the Panther Island Bridge project and dedicated in 2015, it runs entirely on free, renewable wind energy.
