A large wooden Native American head sculpture by Peter Wolf Toth stands at the top of the bluff at the entrance to the village of Hopewell, Illinois. It is part of Toth's Trail of the Whispering Giants and, according to the village, pays tribute to the Hopewell Indian culture that existed along the Illinois River about 2,000 years ago.
