Wendover Will (63-foot neon mechanical cowboy)

Wendover Will is a mechanical neon-lit cowboy that Islands.com, in a travel feature by Lauren Kershner published on 22 March 2025, calls the town's unofficial mascot, towering over West Wendover, Nevada. Islands.com gives his height as 63 feet and says he holds the Guinness Book of World Records title for the "World's Tallest Mechanical Cowboy"; this listing has not independently checked that title. YESCO, the sign company, said in January 2024 that it had refurbished the sign in 2023, after first building the original in 1952, replacing 1,184 feet of neon tubing with LED lighting. A Fox 13 report, undated on the page, put the city's spending on the upgrades at about $175,000 and gave the height as 68 feet, so published figures differ. Fox 13 also said the sign was moved to the western edge of town.
