FIELD GUIDE

The story

Two forms meet in the south lobby of Fontainebleau Las Vegas, one balanced on top of the other: Lovers #3 by the artist Urs Fischer. LERA, the structural engineers, describes a monumental sculpture of cast aluminium, stainless steel and gold leaf, nearly 45 feet (14 m) from the base; Alta Journal gives 46 feet. It stands in the Urs Fischer Gallery, flanked by two Fischer murals, The Touch and The Eye, according to Alta. The resort opened at the end of 2023, according to Galerie, and CDC Gaming Reports, in a December 2023 piece from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, also gives 46 feet. In September 2025 Alta described it as appearing to change shape as the viewer circles it, in a roundup of Las Vegas hotel art that can be seen free. It stands inside a working resort lobby.
