Olean's said in December 2021 that friends had restored her and that she had been installed there, and in 2023 it said it would change her outfit with the seasons.

The story

A Uniroyal Tire mascot from the 1960s, close to 20 feet of fiberglass, stands outside a dispensary in Northport near the tip of Michigan's Leelanau Peninsula as of March 2025, and in 2023 her owners said they would change her outfit with the seasons.

The business, Olean's, calls her Jo'Lean and describes her as an original Uniroyal Gal from the mid-1960s. She belongs to the family of oversized fiberglass figures best known as Muffler Men, most of which Wikipedia credits to International Fiberglass of Venice, California. The Leelanau Ticker reported in 2023 that her red top and blue skirt were made removable to reveal a bikini, so that Uniroyal dealers could mark the changing seasons.

Olean's says she lay abandoned in a Kentucky field for years and was bought for $150, then spent time in an Ohio backyard, where friends of the business had her restored. By December 2021 she had waited about five years in a Michigan pole barn and had been installed in front of the shop. The business also passes on a story that her sculptor modelled her on Jackie Kennedy, which it describes as "supposedly" so.

Accounts of her size and rarity differ. Olean's says almost 20 feet and WPBN gave 20 feet in 2023, while the Ticker that year gave 17.5 feet and a March 2025 article called her 18 feet. Olean's counts six or seven surviving Uniroyal Gals, the Ticker cited sources saying about 12, and the 2025 article said fewer than 20.

When staff removed her outfit in 2023, the owner told WPBN the finish underneath was still the original from the 1960s, which left her with something like a farmer's tan until she could be refinished. She stands on the street frontage of an adult-use cannabis shop, so she is easy to see from the road, but customers must be 21 or older to go inside.

Tallulah (also spelled Talula) is a swan statue about 15 feet tall beside the Elk Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce on US-31. Local Rotary Club members built her in 1966 as a parade float to carry Miss Elk Rapids; she was moved to her present spot in the early 1970s and is maintained by Elk Rapids High School shop students.
