This Big Thing is recorded as still being here.
The Trojan Dog, a 300-pound sculpture of a giant dog (in the spirit of the Trojan Horse) made of foam and resin over a steel armature with automotive finish paint, was created in 2008 by artist Ann Glover as part of a citywide Roanoke, Virginia public-art initiative titled 'Larger than Life: The Everyday Made BIG.' It became a permanent piece in Historic Grandin Village in 2011, was relocated to sit outside the Raleigh Court Library in 2018 during construction, and now stands at Roanoke's Fire Station 7, atop a platform built from bricks salvaged from the original 1922 firehouse.
