Stix, by artist Christian Moeller, is a 70-foot-tall public art installation of 27 red cedar poles painted in stripes of red, orange, light blue, dark blue, and light green, standing in the Korean Veterans Boulevard roundabout in Nashville. Each pole required a 15-foot-deep hole drilled through limestone; the poles are angled irregularly (0-15 degrees from vertical) for a 360-degree viewing effect, and fifteen embedded up-lights illuminate the piece at night. At roughly $750,000, it is described as Nashville's most expensive public art installation.
