FIELD GUIDE
The story
Spherica III was one of the sculptures on the Danville Art Trail, whose current round began in 2024. The city's Art Trail page lists it at Union Street Overlook, by artist Lawrence Feir, and describes a stainless-steel kinetic sculpture that turns in the wind and plays with positive and negative space. It gives the size as 16 feet high and over 10 feet wide, and says the piece is lit from below at night. The trail launched in 2015 with seven sculptures; in 2024 eleven new works joined four returning pieces.
