FIELD GUIDE

The story

A bronze eagle marks the main entrance of Seven Feathers Casino Resort at Canyonville, Oregon, and the resort bills it as the largest bronze casting of an eagle in the world.
The resort sits just off Interstate 5 at exit 99, 25 miles south of Roseburg and 45 miles north of Grants Pass, among Douglas firs and pines. It is owned by the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians, which opened the Cow Creek Bingo Hall in 1992; that hall is now the resort.
