Riverfront Rings, an $200,000 public art project by Colorado-based artist Joshua Wiener, consists of eight 17-foot weathering-steel rings near the south entrance to the T. Tyler Potterfield Memorial Bridge in Richmond, Virginia. The rings were designed to be interactive (climbable up to about six feet) and were spray-welded with water to rust rapidly into a burnt-orange finish evoking the industrial Manchester neighborhood the bridge connects to downtown.
